FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is a "psychopraticien"?
It is the French professional title for a practitioner offering psychological and body-centred support who is neither a medical doctor nor a psychologist. A psychologist holds a university master's degree in psychology. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can diagnose and prescribe. The title psychopraticien is not state-regulated, which is why I am transparent about my training (see About) and work in regular supervision.
How is this different from talk therapy?
We do talk. But we also pay attention to what happens in your body while you speak: a tension, a movement, a feeling coming up. These signals often give more direct access to what hurts and to what can change.
Does it work online?
Yes. Most of the work is about attending to your inner experience, which translates very well to video. You just need a quiet, private space, a stable connection and, ideally, a camera that shows your upper body.
I don't feel much in my body. Is this for me?
Yes, that's very common. We start where you are, at your pace. Noticing little is already useful information.
Do you work with couples?
Yes. Couple work rests on the same principles: slowing down, noticing what happens in each of you and between you, and opening new ways of relating. Let's talk about it during the discovery call.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what brings you. Some people come for a few sessions around a specific question; others for longer work. We check in regularly, and you can stop at any time.
Which rate should I choose?
Choose freely, without justification, between €40, €65 and €89 per 1-hour session, according to your means. See Sessions & fees.
Is it covered by insurance?
Usually not, since I am not a licensed health professional. Please check with your insurer. I can provide an invoice.
What happens in the discovery call?
A free 20-minute video call. You tell me what brings you, I answer your questions, and we see whether we'd like to work together. No commitment.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes. In supervision, cases are discussed anonymously.
What if I'm in crisis?
This work is not suited to emergencies. Call 112 or your local emergency number, or a local crisis line. In France, 3114 (suicide prevention) is free and available 24/7.
Another question?
The easiest is to talk it through during a free 20-minute call.
